Who physical therapy helps
Accident victims. Post-surgical patients rebuilding strength. People living with low back pain, arthritis, fractures or head injuries. Anyone who has been immobilized and lost flexibility or endurance. If your body has stopped doing what you need it to do at work or at home, this is the room where that gets fixed.
What a visit looks like
Your first appointment starts with a thorough history and a full evaluation: posture, biomechanics, range of motion and joint mobility. From there we build a treatment plan around your goals and walk you through it before anything starts. Sessions run about an hour.
Treatment usually centers on exercise, progressing from restoring basic flexibility to building strength, balance, coordination and endurance. Adjunct therapies like heat, electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound and cold therapy support the work where they're useful.
A few practical notes
- All 50 states allow direct access, so you don't need a physician referral to start
- Wear snug, comfortable clothing that doesn't restrict movement
- Bring your insurance card, ID, any prescription from your physician, and your co-pay if you have one
One honest caveat: results track commitment. Patients who follow the plan and do their home exercises get better. Patients who skip them take longer. We'll be straight with you about that from day one.
Call the office. You will talk to a person, and the first consultation is complimentary.
